Team Vicar St Thomas’ Church Holtspur
In 2022, we stepped out in faith and boldly created a community café in the church itself,aiming to demonstrate God’s love in practical ways through kindness and hospitality.
Now we have over 400 people a week crossing that threshold. Are you the person to
provide fresh points of encounter with our Lord Jesus Christ to help more follow in his
steps?
St Thomas’ is part of the parish of Beaconsfield which has a warmly supportive Team
Ministry, great local amenities, access to some of the best state schools in the country and
excellent transport links. It is a growing and prosperous town but one in which affluence
sits closely alongside social deprivation and poverty.
As a church community we underpin our outreach with informal styles of worship but are
willing to try anything new, blending reverence with accessibility in our worship and
mission.
We are looking for a Team Vicar who:
- Is practical, passionate and creative about new ways of being church.
- Has pastoral warmth and sensitivity, being able to inspire spiritual growth for all.
- Embraces diversity and will eagerly engage with our café users, local community groups and schools.
- Has the skills to nurture our laity, building up the gifts and talents of the church.
- An established and busy community café with exciting opportunities for engagement.
- The love and prayers of a dedicated, resourceful group of lay and clerical volunteers.
- A flourishing Team Ministry with a strong sense of unity and a willingness to guide, support and encourage each other in a diversity of worship styles.
- A spacious and well-appointed vicarage.
